Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photographer || Ashley & Neil
They say if it rains on your wedding day, it’s good luck. The day Ashley & Neil were married was a record setting day of rainfall here in Columbus, Ohio so I think these two are set with good luck for life! These two arranged a small, romantic and intimate wedding ceremony at a beautiful Catholic Church nestled downtown. Just their closest family members and friends filling the first two pews of the candle lit church, the rain was pouring so hard you could hear it in that way you always wish it would rain when you’re about to fall asleep. Through the occasional thunder, right as Ashley and her dad stepped into the doorway, the bells tolled. It gave me chills how absolutely movie-like the moment was.
Listen, I know that part of my job is photographing big weddings, but the more these smaller, elopement type weddings happen, the more I’m all for it.
Seeing Ashley and Neil together, only just meeting them on this day, I know these two have found their person. Neither of them were ever stressed, just happy to be in each other’s company. They allowed Jon and I to be apart of these very personal moments, never treating us as a stranger and that made my job SO much easier.
When it came time to venture to another location for their photos, I listed to them a few ideas that I had. Not knowing them well, I wasn’t sure how they felt about getting rained on but they were all for whatever was going to create incredible photos. (Music to my ears!) They decided the Statehouse was perfect for them and I was so happy to hear that. (They were saying all the right things, y’all!) When we got there, I felt like this place was MEANT for their portraits. I don’t think I need to say more, just look at the images.
I’m eternally grateful to Ashley and Neil for choosing me out of all the photographers in Central Ohio to photograph this time in their life. To document the day that marks a lifelong commitment is an honor for me. I’ll never forget this epic couple and their wedding day!
