Columbus, Ohio Wedding + Engagement Photographer || Joyce & Sam’s Wedding Day at Amelita Mirolo Barn
Joyce and Sam’s wedding day was completely focused on their faith and their love for each other. There was so much peace, joy, and calmness throughout their entire day. From the time they got ready all the way until the end of dinner, there was nothing but positivity that filled the rooms. Sam and Joyce chose to do a first look on their big day which led them to be able to privately pray together with a few other loved ones. It was such a beautiful privilege to be apart of an intimate moment during that prayer time.
Joyce and Sam also included worship time in their ceremony where they sang and then shared testimony and prayed. It was really incredible to hear what led them to that point in their faith and how their individual relationships with God brought them to their wedding day.
The Holy Spirit was absolutely present and I’ll tell you how I know! Sam and Joyce had a guest book where guests could highlight a bible verse for the couple to later read and look at guest’s notes. I thought it was the perfect background for their ring shot. The bible is a foundational part of a relationship with Christ and I thought it was really symbolic to use the Bible as the physical foundation for their rings (the physical outward promise of commitment to each other) to rest on. Now, if you know me, details are everything and I wanted to make sure the rings rested on a book of the Bible that was also symbolic. I was thinking of all the options I had. I heard ‘Psalms.’ and instantly used it. Later in the ceremony, Sam shared such a powerful moment of his testimony and then shared a verse that meant to much to him…. that was out of Psalms. My jaw dropped open, I looked at Jon and he shook his head… Jon could not believe it. Because I made a big deal out of needing to have the rings lay on a ‘good’ book… as if all the books aren’t good! haha
But I love having these moments during wedding days. Now whenever these two look back and that shot, they can think of this story and the meaning of their ring shot along with all the other beautiful moments of their wedding day. God is so so GOOD!
